Poland: Lublin stun Jastrzębski Węgiel in Game 1 of semifinals!

Bogdanka LUK Lublin performed a big surprise in 2024/25 PlusLiga semifinals, defeating Jastrzębski Węgiel 1-3 (25:23, 22:25, 18:25, 22:25) in the first leg on the road.
Wilfredo Leon stole the show with as many as 25 points to his name seasoned with 3 aces and 4 winning blocks, also earning a well-deserved MVP honors.
Despite losing the first set 23:25, the winners bounced back in style, winning the next three sets without major problems, making difference in decisive moments of the game. The intensity was high throughout, with both teams exchanging leads and emotional outbursts—especially from Jastrzębski’s coach Marcelo Mendez.
Game 2 of best-of-three series is set for Wednesday, April 23, at the Globus Arena in Lublin, and a win for the home team would send them straight to the PlusLiga finals!
