Poland: Lublin one step from 2024/25 title! Aluron destroyed also in Game 2

After an unexpected 0-3 defeat in Game 1 in favor of Lublin, 2024/25 PlusLiga Final series between BOGDANKA LUK Lublin and Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie continued today with another clean 3-0 (25:14, 25:21, 25:14) sweep!
The winners delivered a stunning performance, sweeping their rivals this time in front of their home fans, and now the team from Lublin holds a commanding 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series.
Despite the debut of Georg Grozer, brought in by Zawiercie through a medical transfer, the visiting side was no match for the dominant hosts.
Wilfredo Leon led the charge with 19 points to his name through 57% in attack, 2 aces, 2 blocks and MVP awards, well supported by Mikołaj Sawicki and Kewin Sasak, who also contributed with 10 each. On the other side of the net, Aaron Russell was the most prolific player with only 9 points.
Statistically, Lublin outclassed their rivals in all elements, starting from attack, with 51% of team performance compared to Aluron’s 37%, only 14 errors to 21, 8 aces to 2 and 8 winning blocks to 4.
Decisive Game 3 in Sosnowiec, on the field of Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, is scheduled on Wednesday, May 7, while tomorrow PGE Projekt Warszawa will welcome Jastrzębski Węgiel in Game 2 for third place.
In Game 1 the team from country’s capital stunned defending champions winning the game in just three sets.
