Marcelo Mendez New Head Coach of Itas Trentino

Marcelo Mendez has been officially announced as the new head coach of Italian champions Itas Trentino, signing a two-year contract with the club, extending through June 2027.
The 61-year-old Argentine expert brings with him over four decades of experience, having led national teams like Argentina and Spain, as well as top clubs in Brazil, Spain, and Poland.
Most recently, he coached JastrzÄbski WÄgiel in Poland and will finish his tenure with Argentinaâs national team at the 2025 World Championship before joining Trentino in October.
“Itâs a big challenge and an exciting opportunity,â he said.
“Iâm eager to bring my style of play to a club thatâs already achieved so much.”
Trentino Volley president Marcello Poli praised the hire, highlighting his international success and leadership.
“Marceloâs experience and approach align perfectly with our vision for the future,” he said.
