Poland: Energa Trefl Gdańsk defeat Ślepsk Malow Suwałki in advance of Round 3

In the opening match of the third round of 2025/26 Plusliga, Energa Trefl Gdańsk claimed a straight-set victory on the field of still winless Ślepsk Malow Suwałki, 0-3 (22:25, 23:25, 23:25). Despite a competitive and thrilling battle on the court, the visitors proved stronger in decisive moments
of the game, securing their second win of the season and a temporary first place in the standings, with the same number of points of PGE Projekt Warszawa, who tomorrow will face JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel, at -1.
For the home team, Asparuh Asparuhov and Bartosz Filipiak led the scoring with 14 points each, while Gdańsk’s attack, led by a great Tobias Brand, MVP of the game with 20 points through 64% attack efficiency (16/25), 2 aces, 2 blocks and 45% positive reception, and Aliaksei Nasevich who added 10, proved decisive, but they outperformed their rivals also in other elements, aces (7–4) and blocks (5–4), committing fewer errors too.
In addition to the big match, tomorrow Round 3 will continue with the clash between Asseco Resovia Rzeszów and Cuprum Stilon Gorzów while, in the evening, Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie will welcome Steam Hemarpol Politechnika Częstochowa.
