Italy: Round 6 continues – great comeback for Perugia, straight sets win for Civitanova and Modena

After first two games played yesterday, won by Cisterna Volley and Itas Trentino, both on the road, , Round 6 of 2025/26 Superlega CredemBanca, played in advance due postponement of 2025 Del Monte®️SuperCoppa, continued today with other three games.
Cucine Lube Civitanova delivered a perfect game to their fans with a convincing 3–0 win (25:20, 26:24, 26:24) over Rana Verona, a victory that lifts them to the top of the standings with 13 points, extending their home unbeaten streak to 15 regular season matches.
Civitanova started strong and never looked back. The home side dominated the first set with powerful serves and a confident attack led by Alex Nikolov, who was honored before the match as Superlega Credem Banca’s MVP for October.
The young star left the court as top scorer with 20 points, while Eric Loeppky, named MVP of the match, proved to be decisive also contributing with 14 points.
Verona fought hard, especially in the second and third sets, with Darlan Souza’s 15 points, Noumory Keita’s 12 and Rok Mozic’s 11, all in double digit, but struggled a lot above all in reception. In the end, Lube’s composure in key moments made the difference.
Civitanova’s coach Giampaolo Medei praised his team’s focus and intensity, while the crowd of 3,695 fans celebrated yet another amazing home performance. Young Setter Riccardo Boninfante, marking his 100th Regular Season appearance, led the attack with experience and precision.
Elsewhere, Valsa Group Modena also earned a clean 3–0 home win over Sonepar Padova (25:22, 25:20, 25:17) led by Paul Buchegger with 15 points, well supported by a solid team effort while, in the evening, Sir Susa Scai Perugia staged a great comeback from 2-0 on the field of Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza – 2-3 (25:20, 25:11, 21:25, 21:25, 8:15).
Down by two sets, the defending European champions reacted in an electrifying clash. Piacenza came out firing, controlling the game through Alessandro Bovolenta, who left the court with 21 points, Efe Mandiraci who added 16 and José Miguel Gutierrez with 13.
Their aggressive start stunned Perugia, especially with a dominant second set that ended 25-11. However the visitors, led by coach Angelo Lorenzetti, refused to surrender.
A tactical switch brought in 18-year-old setter Bryan Argilagos, who gave Perugia a renewed energy and rhythm.
From there, MVP Wassim Ben Tara, with 14 points, Kamil Semeniuk with 10 and Sebastián Solé with 9 took control.
By the fourth set, momentum was all Perugia’s, who forced the tie-break and dominated it 15-8, sealing the win and staying unbeaten in the competition. Statistically, Perugia led with 10 blocks to Piacenza’s 7 and recorded 4 aces to the hosts’ 5.
With this win, Perugia climbs alongside Civitanova at 13 points, while Piacenza continue their hunt for a first home victory.
Round 6 will close on Wednesday, November 19 with the last clash between Allianz Milano and Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina.
