Poland: Olstzyn sweep Suwałki in another game of Round 5, Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie down BOGDANKA LUK Lublin in advance of Round 13

After two advances played yesterday, in which Barkom Każany Lwów shocked PGE Projekt Warszawa and Energa Trefl Gdańsk down Cuprum Stilon Gorzów at tie break, fragmented Round 5 of 2025/26 Plusliga continued today with the clash between Ślepsk Malow Suwałki and Indykpol AZS Olsztyn, won by the visiting side by 0-3 (21:25, 20:25, 15:25). For the Olsztyn team, it was already their fourth win this season and consequent second place in the standings, while Suwałki remain winless and at the bottom of the table.
Top scorers were Bartosz Filipiak with 11 points to his name and Asparuh Asparuhov added 10 for the home side, while MVP Moritz Karlitzek with 17 (16/21 attacks through 76% success rate, one block, and 60% positive reception), Paweł Halaba with 14 and Jan Hadrava with 11 led the winners, who dominated in every elements, attack, reception and, above all, in serving with a clear dominance in aces (9–4).
In the evening, in an advance of Round 13, Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie down BOGDANKA LUK Lublin at tie break, 3-2 (22:25, 25:20, 30:28, 20:25, 15:11).
The clash between Poland’s vice-champions and reigning champions offered everything volleyball fans could ask for: top-quality play from both sides!
Bartłomiej Bołądź delivered an amazing performance, scoring 30 points and earning the MVP award with his 60% attack efficiency (27/45), two aces, and one block, well supported by Aaron Russell who added 13 points, Bartosz Kwolek with 12 and Mateusz Bieniek with 10. For Lublin, Wilfredo Leon was once again dominant with 23 points, while Hilir Henno added 19. Both Aleks Grozdanow and Kewin Sasak tallied 11 points each to keep the champions in contention.
Statistically, both teams showed balance in attack, but the winners had the edge in serve reception, recorded more aces (11–7), and committed fewer errors (30 vs. 36). Lublin, however, was stronger in blocking, outscoring the rivals 10–5 at the net.
Round 5 will continue next week, Wednesday 19, with the big match between JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel and BOGDANKA LUK Lublin while, in the evening, Asseco Resovia Rzeszów will face ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle while on Saturday Round 6 will start with first three games: Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie will welcome JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel, Steam Hemarpol Politechnika Częstochowa will face Indykpol AZS Olsztyn while, in the evening, ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle will welcome Barkom Każany Lwów.
