Poland: Bełchatów down Częstochowa in advance of Round 7

Round 7 of 2025/26 Plusliga started today with the advance between PGE GiEK SKRA Bełchatów and Steam Hemarpol Politechnika Częstochowa, that recently parted ways with head coach Guillermo Falasca, ended with the score of 3-1 (25:23, 21:25, 25:19, 26:24) in favor of the home team.
Despite a good performance from the team second-to-last in the standings, 20 points from Patrick Indra, 18 from Jakub Kiedos and 16 from Milad Ebadipour, the winners, who temporarily moved to third place in the standings, were better in key moments of the game, led in score by MVP and top scorer Antoine Pothron, author of 18 points, 4 aces and 1 block, Arkadiusz Żakieta, who also contributed with 16, and Bartłomiej Lemański, who added 16 through 73% in attack, 2 blocks and 1 ace.
Round 7 will continue tomorrow with other two games: in big match, Asseco Resovia Rzeszów will welcome Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, while JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel will face newcomers InPost ChKS Chełm, who recently celebrated their first win in Poland’s elite competition.
