Sonepar Padova delivered the shock of Round 7, defeating Cucine Lube Civitanova 3-2 (25:22, 20:25, 23:25, 25:23, 19:17) in a thrilling game decided 19-17 in the fifth set. Mattia Orioli led the winners with 22 points to his name and earned MVP honors. Despite 30 points from Civitanova’s Aleksandar Nikolov, the visitors failed to close several match opportunities in the tie-break.
All easy for Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza, who cruised to a 0-3 (14:25, 15:25, 18:25) win on the field of last-placed and still winless Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina behind a balanced scoring lineup, while Valsa Group Modena outlasted MA Acqua S.Bernardo Cuneo 2-3 (23:25, 25:22, 18:25, 36:34, 10:15) after a marathon fourth set that ended 36-34.
Superlega will continue next Wednesday, November 26, with the advance of Round 1 of Second leg or, if you prefer, Round 12, between Sir Susa Scai Perugia and Vero Volley Monza.
