Coupe de France: 1/8 FINALS completed – Saint Nazaire eliminate Montpellier, Saint Quentin and Martigues will continue from Ligue B

1/8 Finals of 2025/26 Coupe de France has been completed today after first two games played yesterday, in which both winners celebrated straight sets successes, both on the road.
Nice trampled over Plessis Robinson with a clean 0-3 (19:25, 20:25, 20:25), celebrating a qualification for quarterfinals. Shay Liberman and Dawid Dulski led the charge with 17 and 15 points, respectively.
Straight sets win also for St. Quentin on the field of Frejus 0-3 (15:25, 23:25, 18:25) in one of two games between two Ligue B sides, with 14 and 13 points from Julien Faganas and Ino Dukic.
In big match of Tuesday, Tours sweep Tourcoing also in straight sets (25:20, 25:22, 25:20) in front of more than 2000 volleyball fans at Salle Grenon, while major upset of the day came from Saint Nazaire, where the hosts eliminated current Ligue A leaders Montpellier, 3-0 (25:21, 25:21, 32:30) too. After dominating first two sets, the visiting side tried to re-open the match, but then wasted an important 11-16 lead and then also 17-22! Filip John led the charge scoring 20 points for the winners through an impressive 69% in attack.
Straight sets win also for Chaumont on the field of Ajaccio, 0-3 (22:25, 20:25, 23:25) with a convincing performance after a disastrous start in Ligue A, while Poitiers eliminated Cannes after a 1-3 (25:27, 25:20, 22:25, 23:25) win on the road, despite 28 points from Xander Ketrzynski.
Four sets win also for Paris on the field of Ligue B side Saint Jean D’Illac, 1-3 (24:26, 25:19, 17:25, 17:25), with 20 points from top scorer Vasilii Molotkov, and for Martigues over Royan in a clash between two Ligue B sides, 3-1 (25:23, 19:25, 25:12, 28:26).
Despite the visiting side outclassed Martigues in blocking, scoring as many as 18 points from this element to 11, the winners played a strong game above all in attack, making the difference in key moments, led in score by Kévin Francois, who left the court with 20 points to his name and Maoni Talia, who also contributed with 14.
