France: Round 8 completed – Montpellier and Tours to the top! Toulouse, Tourcoing, Plessis Robinson and Narbonne

After the advance played on Thursday, in which Cannes won the derby against Nice 1-3, Round 8 of 2025/26 Marmara Spike League has been completed today.
To the top Montpellier and Tours, sharing the leadership with 20 points apiece. The first one, struggling due several injuries, including Nicolas Le Goff and Simon Hirsch, needed five to prevail over Paris, 3-2 (25:22, 20:25, 14:25, 25:21, 15:10) with 19 points from Tomas Lopez and 18 from Vincent Mathias, while Tours sweep St-Nazaire with a clean 3-0 (25:23, 25:18, 25:21), outclassing the rivals in blocking (10 to 2), and with 20 points from bomber Nik Mujanovic (58% in attack and 2 blocks).
Behind them at -1 Tourcoing, who won on the field of last-placed Chaumont also at tie break, in an amazing game ended 2-3 (26:24, 25:27, 26:28, 25:22, 9:15), with as many as 45 points (!!!) from Venislav Antov, with 1 block and an impressive 67% in attack, after 2 hours and 27 minutes of play.
Away win also for Plessis-Robinson, who sweep newcomers Ajaccio 0-3 (16:25, 20:25, 21:25), while Toulouse down Sète in front of their home fans with the same result, 3-0 (25:21, 28:26, 27:25), with 19 points from Pierre Derouillon and 18 from Timo Beriot.
Close the picture a hard-fought 3-1 (24:26, 25:23, 25:23, 25:21) win of Narbonne over Poitiers, with 28 points from Micheal Czerwinski, absolute top scorer of the game with 28 points to his name through 65% in attack, 1 block and 1 ace.
Ligue A will continue already on Tuesday with midweek Round 9.
