Türkiye: all results of Round 8 – Ziraat down Galatasaray in big match. Halkbank sweep Fenerbahçe and the others

2025/26 SMS Grup Efelerligi Round 8 has been played entirely today with victories of Halkbank and Ziraat Bankkart, two of the league’s top contenders.
Halkbank delivered a confident 0-3 (20:25, 24:26, 16:25) win over Fenerbahçe Medicana at the TVF Burhan Felek Volleyball Hall. Yoandy Leal and Tsvetan Sokolov led the winners with 13 points each, while the hosts’ most prolific player, and the match’s overall top scorer, was Yiğit Gülmezoğlu with 14 points.
In Ankara, Ziraat Bankkart prevailed over Galatasaray HDI Sigorta in a thrilling five-set showdown, 3-2 (25:21, 23:25, 25:22, 18:25, 15:11). Despite strong performance from Galatasaray’s Jean Patry and Thomas Jaeschke, who scored 23 and 17 points respectively, league leaders Ziraat secured the decisive tie-break, taking the match 15-11 to seal a well-deserved victory. Nimir Abdelaziz led the winners and was the match top scorer with as many as 34 points.
Tie break win alsl for Gebze Bld., who down Altekma 3-2 (22:25, 23:25, 27:25, 25:21, 15:13), and On Hotels Alanya Bld., who won on the field of Spor Toto, 2-3 (28:30, 25:23, 22:25, 16:25, 14:16).
Three points for İstanbul Gençlik Spor Kulübü, who easily sweep last placed Rams Global Cizre Bld. Spor Kulübü by 0-3 (16:25, 17:25, 17:25), for Kuşgöz İzmir Vinç Akkuş Belediyespor that won the battle against Gaziantep Gençlik Spor Kulübü 3-0 (25:23, 30:28, 30:28), and for Bursa Büyükşehir Bld., who needed four sets to won on the field of İBB Spor Kulübü, 1-3 (21:25, 23:25, 25:19, 38:40).
Efelerligi will continue on Saturday with all scheduled games of Round 9.
