Italy: Monza close Round 10 with an away win over Padova

In a game that closed Round 10 of 2025/26 Superlega Credem Banca, Vero Volley Monza secured second straight victory after the one against Civitanova in previous Round as well as their first away win of the season, defeating Sonepar Padova by 1-3 (22:25, 25:18, 28:30, 20:25) at Kioene Arena.

Opposite Krisztián Padar powered the winners with as many as 32 points to his name through an impressing 71% in attack, earning a well-deserved MVP honors.
Despite a 33-point performance from Padova’s Veljko Masulovic, the home side was unable to capitalize in decisive moments, particularly late in the third set when, after trailing 21–18, they rallied to win 30–28, a momentum shift that carried into the fourth set.
Middle blocker Jacopo Larizza helped spark an early 7–1 run as Monza closed out the match without major problems, controlling the entire match defensively, outblocking Padova 14–4.

“The match was intense from start to finish,” Larizza said. “Taking the third set was critical. Now we’re focused on Grottazzolina, which could determine our place in the Coppa Italia Quarterfinals.”

With the win, Monza overtakes Padova in the standings, and they will face last-placed and still winless Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina next Saturday, with eighth place already in their pocket, and a potential Coppa Italia berth.
