France: straight sets win for Montpellier in the opener of Round 16

In the opener of 2025/26 Marmara Spike League Round 16, Montpellier down Plessis-Robinson in just three sets (25:23, 27:25, 25:21) to move, at least temporarily, to second place in the standings at -1 from current leaders Tours, who will face last-placed Ajaccio on the road on Saturday.
The visiting side, which remain at fourth place, played a good game, also performing a comeback in second set, ended overtime, from 16-10, but the winners were better in key moments of the match, led in score by Ezequiel Palacios and Vincent Mathias, who left the court with 12 points each, and Tomas Lopez, also in double digit with 10.
Round 16 will continue tomorrow with a very important clash for playoffs race between Nice (No.8 in the standings with 20 points) and their closest pursuers Narbonne, at ninth place at -1.
