CEV Cup: first leg of quarterfinals completed – tie break wins for Greenyard Maaseik and ACH Volley Ljubljana

After the wins of SVG Lüneburg and Gas Sales BluEnergy Piacenza, first leg of 2025/26 Playoffs Quarterfinals has been completed today with other two games, both ended at tie break in what wasn’t a good day from Turkish volleyball.
In Türkiye, Greenyard Maaseik from Belgium prevailed over Galatasaray HDI Istanbul by 2-3 (23:25, 26:24, 23:25, 25:23, 11:15) with 11 aces, 33 points from Sil Meijs (60% in attack and 3 blocks), and 27 from Pierre Perin (57% in attack and as many as 7 aces!).
Second leg in Belgium next Wednesday, March 11.
Something similar happened in Slovenia, where the hosts ACH Volley Ljubljana down Fenerbahçe Medicana Istanbul also from Türkiye by 3-2 (25:17, 21:25, 25:16, 23:25, 16:14) with as many as 35 points from Tonček Stern (59% in attack, 4 blocks and 1 ace).
Second leg in Türkiye next Thursday.
Both today’s winners needed a victory to progress to semifinals!
