Champions League: fourth week started today – 3 points for Lüneburg, Berlin and Civitanova. What a comeback for Lublin!

Fourth week of 2025/26 CEV Champions League started today with four games, delivering another big night, serving up everything volleyball fans could hope for.
The most exciting game came from Pool B, where Bogdanka LUK Lublin delighted their home supporters by fighting back from two sets down to defeat a very combative Knack Roeselare at tie break, 3-2 (22:25, 23:25, 27:25, 25:16, 15:13).
Led once again by Wilfredo Leon, who left the court with 26 points through 56% in attack, 2 blocks and 2 aces, the Polish side showed composure and resilience above all under pressure, saving a match point and preserving their perfect record to the top of their group. Leon tallied one less points of Basil Dermaux, who scored 27 points on the other side of the net.
In Pool C, Berlin Recycling Volleys showed all their experience to shut down an excellent VK Lvi Praha from Czech Republic 3-1 (25:19, 23:25, 27:25, 26:24). The Germans controlled the key moments in tight sets, backed by strong support inside a packed arena in Berlin, after 128 minutes of exciting play. Jake Hanes and Moritz Reichert led the charge with 21 and 14 points, respectively, almost canceling a great performance of Praha in blocking (14 points from this element compared to the winners’ 5).
However, the biggest upset came in Pool D, where Berlin’s compatriots SVG Lüneburg played a very inspired game to beat Poland’s Asseco Resovia Rzeszów 3-1 (25:22, 25:27, 25:23, 25:20). Powerful serving and relentless defence helped the hosts to level the standings, keeping the race for the knockout stage wide open! Daniel Gruvaeus scored 20 points for the winners, well supported by Ethan Champlin and Axel Enlund, who added 17 each, as well as Jackson Howe, also in double digit with 12 including 4 blocks and 73% in attack.
There was no drama in Pool E, where Italian powerhouse Cucine Lube Civitanova literally destroyed Volley Haasrode Leuven from Belgium in straight sets. The winners dominated at the net, recording 11 winning blocks, in reception and in attack, with 64% of team performance, underlining why they remain one of the unbeaten teams.
Aleksandar Nikolov once again made the difference leaving the court as top scorer with 14 points through 72% in attack and 1 block, while MVP Noa Duflos-Rossi added 12 through an impressive 82% in attack, 1 block too and 2 aces.
