Round 17 of 2025/2026 SMS Grup Efeler Ligi has been played entirely today, delivering several hard-fought matches, with unexpected defeats for Fenerbahçe Medicana and Ziraat Bankkart, both falling on the road.
Fenerbahçe Medicana were beaten 3-1 (26:24, 23:25, 28:26, 25:21) by İstanbul Gençlik at the Şehit Mustafa Özel Sports Hall in closely contested game, especially in the opening and third sets, but the home side capitalized on important moments to secure a well-deserved win.
Leaders Ziraat Bankkart also left the week empty-handed, losing 3-1 (19:25, 25:16, 25:21, 25:22) away to Spor Toto. Despite winning the opening set, Ziraat were unable to sustain their early rhythm as Spor Toto turned the match around with three consecutive set wins.
Four sets home win also for On Hotels Alanya Bld., who down Kuşgöz İzmir Vinç Akkuş Belediyespor 3-1 (25:16, 25:22, 21:25, 25:23), while Halkbank celebrated a 1-3 (23:25, 22:25, 25:23, 20:25) win on the field of Bursa Büyükşehir Bld.
The only straight sets win came from Altekma, who sweep Gaziantep Gençlik Spor Kulübü 3-0 (25:19, 25:19, 26:24), while Galatasaray HDI Sigorta down İBB Spor Kulübü in the most balanced contest of the day, 3-2 (22:25, 25:21, 34:36, 25:21, 15:10).
Efelerligi will continue next Saturday, February 7, with the advance of Round 18 between Kuşgöz İzmir Vinç Akkuş Belediyespor and Galatasaray HDI Sigorta, and will complete on Sunday with all the others.
