Montenegro to make history by hosting CEV EuroVolley 2028 Men pool phase

History in the making for Montenegro!

The CEV Board of Administration has officially accepted the application from the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro (OSCG) to host the pool phase of CEV Eurovolley 2028 Men, and this marks the largest sporting event ever organized in the country’s history!

With matches set for the iconic SC Moraca in country’s capital, Podgorica, this event represents a major step forward for the Balkan volleyball community and a powerful message of Montenegro’s readiness for the elite European stage.

“This event will literally break new ground for our sport in Montenegro, as the first championship of this magnitude and calibre to take place in their country. We very much hope it will help the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro raise the profile of Volleyball even further and will inspire many local youngsters to follow in the footsteps of the local heroes who will enjoy the privilege of contesting a European Championship on home soil,” said CEV President Roko Sikirić.

“We are confident that this event will inspire new generations of young athletes, further strengthen our Volleyball community, and leave a long-term positive impact on the development of sport in our country,” added Nikola Kažić, President of the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro.
