CEV Cup: Piacenza and Maaseik to semifinals! Berlin and Galatasaray eliminated

Quarterfinals of 2025/26 CEV Cup continued today with other two verdicts and with other two teams that joined SVG Lüneburg to semifinals.
The first one is Italy’s Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza, who eliminated Berlin Recycling Volleys celebrating a double straight sets win. The first one in Germany, a week ago, and then also in front of their home fans at Palabanca today, 3-0 (25:21, 29:27, 25:18).
Lukas Bergmann closed the game with 10 points, together with Daniel Iyegbekedo (71% in attack and 3 blocks), Robbert Andringa added 5 points, while Efe Mandiraci tallied 9. Top scorer of the match, however, was Daniel Malesha, author of 13 points in Berlin jersey.
After a tie break win in Türkiye, Belgium’s Greenyard Maaseik eliminated Galatasaray HDI Istanbul celebrating a great 3-1 (21:25, 25:14, 25:12, 37:35) home win, with 22 points from Pierre Perin (53% in attack, 3 aces and 62% positive receptions) and 15 from Antti Ronkainen (59% in attack, 1 ace, 1 block and 77% positive receptions).
In semifinals they’ll face Lüneburg.
Tomorrow Türkiye’s Fenerbahçe Medicana Istanbul will welcome ACH Volley Ljubljana after losing at tie break in Slovenia, and the winners will face Piacenza.
