2025/26 Plusliga best-of-five final series between regular season winners and Champions League semifinalist Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie and No.3 Bogdanka LUK Lublin started today with a perfect performance from the home team, who literally swept the rivals with a clean 3-0 (25:19, 25:21, 25:14) in front of their home fans.
Lublin started strong in first set, but a block was enough to level the score, and then the hosts never looked back to close it 25:19.
Second set followed the similar path, until Aaron Russell (MVP at the end of the game with 20 points to his name through 56% in attack, 2 blocks and 6 aces) delivered three aces in a row, until a decisive +5 lead. A block closed the contest 25:21, until a one-sided third set, ended with a clear 25:14.
Bartłomiej Bołądź also contributed with 11 points including 2 blocks and 2 of the winners’ 13 aces, and Jurij Gladyr also was decisive with 9 points through an impressive 80% in attack, 3 blocks and 2 aces too.
Wilfredo Leon was the only player in double digit for Lublin, leaving the court with 14 points but with only 38% in attack, with an error and blocked 4 times.
