European League 2026: second week completed! The Netherlands, Estonia and Finland to the top. Denmark and Israel their closest pursuers

Second week of 2026 CEV Volleyball European League has been completed today with last 9 games.
Three teams keep a perfect score boasting 12 points in the standings: The Netherlands, Estonia and Finland, all victorious today in front of their home fans.
In Doetinchem, the hosts Netherlands sweep Slovakia 3-0 (26:24, 25:20, 25:18), struggling only in first set, in which they almost wasted a 21-19 lead suffering the rivals’ comeback. Sil Meijs led the charge with 15 points, while Yannick Bak added 10.
In Tallinn, Estonia needed four sets to prevail over Austria, 3-1 (25:22, 23:25, 26:24, 25:22), with 13 winning blocks, 18 points from Robert Täht and 17 from Renee Teppan, and despite 28 points from Paul Buchegger, while at Helsinki’s Veikkaus Areena, Finland sweep Croatia 3-0 (25:20, 32:30, 25:19), rejecting the rivals’ attempt to reopen the game in a thrilling second set lasted almost 40 minutes! Luka Marttila played another great game leaving the court as top scorer with 19 points through 62% in attack and 1 block.
Behind them with 11 points in the standings Denmark, who won in Czech Republic at tie break, 2-3 (25:15, 20:25, 23:25, 28:26, 13:15), against a combative home team, led in score by Mads Kyed Jensen (25 points through through 45% in attack and 3 aces), and Israel, who also celebrated four victories in as many games today victorious in four sets against Sweden, 3-1 (25:16, 25:20, 22:25, 25:21). Shay Liberman once again made the difference closing the game as top scorer with a tally of 21 points through 55% in attack and 3 of his team’s 10 aces, well supported by Mark Rura, who added 20 through 60% in attack, 2 blocks and 3 aces too.
Home win also for Greece, who blocks North Macedonia 3-0 (25:19, 25:20, 25:23), recording as many as 14 kill blocks, for Switzerland, who down Hungary with the same result (25:16, 25:21, 25:21) in Kriens with 19 points from Lars Migge, Portugal, who defeated Latvia 3-1 (25:19, 20:25, 25:23, 25:18) after more than two hours of play with 26 points from an almost unstoppable Alexandre Ferreira (1 ace and 63% in attack), and Romania, who beat Spain at tie break (25:18, 23:25, 21:25, 25:18, 15:9) after 147 minutes of play led in score by Alexandru Rata, top scorer of the match with 24 points.
