Italy: Efe Bayram joins newcomers Prata di Pordenone

The first new face for Superlega’s newcomers Tinet Prata has arrived following the confirmations of Head Coach Simone Di Tommaso, Serie A2’s MVP and outside hitter Jernej Terpin (after three seasons with the club), middle blocker and captain Nicolò Katalan and setter Alessio Alberini: Turkish national team member Efe Bayram, a 2002-born outside hitter who has spent the last four seasons in the Italian SuperLega with Cisterna, after making his professional debut in Turkey with the prestigious Halkbank Ankara.

During his four SuperLega campaigns, ge has scored nearly 1,000 points (918 to be exact) and has been named MVP of the match on four occasions.
A regular member of the Turkish national team, he is currently competing in the Volleyball Nations League.

“As everyone knows and says, the SuperLega is the strongest and most competitive league in the world,” he said.
“Playing in this league has been one of my biggest dreams ever since I started playing volleyball. I’m now preparing for my fifth season in this championship and in this country. After spending several years here, I definitely feel that I understand volleyball much better and that I have become a different player.”

He added he really wanted to stay in Italy, after spending four wonderful years in Cisterna, but he felt it was time for a change, a new environment.

“I think a difficult but exciting season awaits us. As a newly promoted SuperLega team, I believe people will be curious to get to know us and our style of play. I’m fully convinced that, by working hard, we’ll be able to make the most of what will be a long and enjoyable season. The play-out system will also be something new for me. I’ve been here for four years and have never played under this format. Hopefully, we’ll qualify for the playoffs so we won’t have to play in the play-outs!” added, speaking about his expectations for next season, with play outs.

In club’s official statement, he also sent a message for Prata supporters:
“Hello, dear Volley Prata fans! I’ve heard many great things about you, and I hope we’ll share some truly special moments together this season. Having our arena packed every match will be a great strength for us. See you soon!”
