Finland down Denmark to join The Netherlands in 2026 CEV European League Final!

Finland joined the Netherlands in the final of 2026 CEV European League after recording a second 3-1 (22:25, 25:22, 25:19, 25:22) home win over Denmark in as many semi-final matches with their Nordic neighbours.
Finland, winners of the European Golden League last year, will host the first match, with the return due to follow on July 11 or 12 in The Hague.
Like in the previous game played on Sunday in Odense, Finland had to recover after losing the opening set (22-25), but they eventually they regained full control by sweeping the next three (25:22, 25:19, 25:22) much to the delight of a sold-out AGCO Power Arena in Nokia in front of more than 2000 volleyball fans.
Mads Kyed Jensen top scored for Denmark with 21 points through 56% in attack, while Veikka Lindqvist led the winners with 20 (59% in attack, 3 blocks and 4 of his team’s 9 aces), well supported by Luka and Nooa Marttila who tallied 12 and 19, respectively.
Finland also improved their record against Denmark to 34 wins in 40 matches, in a day in which their setter Fedor Ivanov registered 100 caps with the national team!
With both finalists already qualified to EuroVolley 2028 together with co-hosts Montenegro, Denmark and Israel, European League winners will earn a spot in next year’s Volleyball Nations League (VNL)!
