In Italy, newcomers Prata di Pordenone continue their transfer campaign today as well, completing their outside hitter department with the official signing of Alberto Pol. Born in 2001, he has enjoyed a successful journey with Italy’s youth national teams and has already gained experience in Serie A2 and Serie A3, culminating in promotion with Sorrento.

“I’m arriving in SuperLega with great enthusiasm. I want to fully enjoy this experience. Our strength will have to be our proactive attitude, while never losing our smile and our desire to work,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Trentino Volley’s summer continues with another highly anticipated confirmation: Daniele Lavia will wear the club’s jersey for the sixth consecutive season.
Arriving in June 2021, he quickly became one of the key figures in Itas Trentino’s recent success, winning two Italian championships (2023 and 2025), a Champions League title (2024), and a Super Cup (2021). Despite the serious injury he suffered ten months ago, last season he surpassed 200 appearances for Trentino Volley — a milestone reached by only eleven players in the club’s history.

“I’m happy to be able to continue my career with this great club, which has always been a major point of reference for me since I arrived in Trento,” he said in the club’s official statement.
“The closeness and support I received during the difficult moments I went through — especially after the injury to my right hand last summer — made me appreciate even more what I have here. For this reason, I never considered another destination. Trento is home and family to me. I am honored to renew my contract and I will approach next season with even greater determination, because we all want to leave this difficult period behind us. Trentino Volley deserves to always be among the best.”

“Daniele Lavia has contributed to some of the most beautiful chapters in Trentino Volley’s recent history, and we are delighted that he has chosen to continue this journey with us in Trento,” explained President Marcello Poli. “He was unavailable for much of last season due to injury, and that situation made us realize even more how important he is for the team — not only because of what he brings on the court, but also because of the experience, technical ability, and human qualities he provides to the group. We want next season to be a return to the highest levels for everyone. Together, we will pursue new important goals and create new emotions.”

New faces are also arriving in Poland, where a U22 European Championship silver medalist joins Gorzów!
Another reinforcement for Cuprum Stilon Gorzów has become official, 20-year-old libero Jakub Jurczyk, who in recent seasons represented Jastrzębski Węgiel and, just two days ago, won the silver medal at the U22 European Championship with the Polish national team.
Despite his young age, Jakub already has valuable experience playing and training at the highest level. Now he begins a new chapter of his career wearing the Cuprum Stilon Gorzów jersey.

The best setter of the U22 European Championship will play for PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów! Freshly crowned U22 European Championship silver medalist too, and one of the most talented setters of his generation, Błażej Bień returns to the club after a two-year loan spell.
He signed a long-term contract with PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów in 2024, helping the team during preparations for the 2023/2024 season.
Over the last two years, he gained experience on the First League courts while on loan at BKS Visła Proline Bydgoszcz. In Poland’s second tier, he played 57 matches. The young setter not only provided his teammates with excellent attacking opportunities, but he also showed a willingness to take responsibility himself, scoring 111 points over two seasons with the Bydgoszcz club.
Furthermore, after the U22 European Championship, he was named the best setter of the competition!
In the 2026/2027 season, the 20-year-old player will face new challenges and make his debut in the PlusLiga.

“Błażej’s return from loan is excellent news for us. Over the past two seasons, he has consistently gained experience on First League courts, and the culmination of his work has been the U22 European Championship silver medal and the individual award as the tournament’s best setter,” emphasized Michał Bąkiewicz, President of KPS Skra Bełchatów S.A. “I believe he is ready for the next step in his career and for competing in the PlusLiga. Together with the coaching staff, we see enormous potential in him, and we are delighted that he returns to PGE GiEK Skra even stronger, both as a player and as a person. It is also confirmation that our strategy of investing in talented young volleyball players is producing results. I am convinced that Błażej will give our fans many reasons to celebrate.”

Also in Poland, after the important confirmation of Bartosz Bednorz, just one day ago, also Ukrainian national team middle blocker Yurii Semeniuk will remain part of the PGE Projekt Warszawa roster for another season.

Sad news on then other hand comes from Olympiacos, as the club mourns the passing of Iraklis Doriadis.
He served Greek volleyball as a player, coach, and sports executive. Wearing the Olympiacos jersey, he played as a middle blocker from 1977 to 1986, and he also worked as a coach for the club’s women’s volleyball team.
The Olympiacos family respectfully says goodbye to a man whose name became linked with the history of Greek volleyball and who honored the club’s jersey with integrity, passion, and dignity.
Our deepest condolences go to his family and loved ones.
May he rest in peace.
