Russia announces first Men’s National Team training camp following FIVB reinstatement

The Russian men’s national team is set to begin preparations for its first training camp since the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) officially reinstated Russian national teams to international competition earlier this month.

Speaking to local media, head coach Konstantin Bryansky confirmed that the federation’s plans remain unchanged despite Russia’s return to the international stage.
“As for our immediate plans, we will not change them after the FIVB’s decision for our full return to the volleyball family. At the moment, the players are training with their clubs. In August, we have scheduled a national team training camp. Only 14 players have been called up, but I want to stress that this is far from the full list of candidates. We have many more high-quality players who could strengthen the team if needed.”

The 14-player squad for the August training camp is as follows:

Setters:
• Pavel Pankov (Dynamo Moscow)
• Roman Poroshin (Belogorie Belgorod)

Middle Blockers:
• Ilya Vlasov (Dynamo Moscow)
• Dmitry Lyzik (Lokomotiv Novosibirsk)
• Dmitry Zhuk (Dynamo Moscow)
• Roman Romanovsky (Zenit Kazan)

Outside Hitters:
• Dmitry Volkov (Dynamo Moscow)
• Anton Semyshev (Dynamo Moscow)
• Omar Kurbanov (Lokomotiv Novosibirsk)
• Denis Bogdan (Dynamo Moscow)

Opposite Hitters:
• Ilya Kazachenkov (Lokomotiv Novosibirsk)
• Maxim Sapozhkov (Dynamo Moscow)

Liberos:
• Ilya Fyodorov (Zenit Kazan)
• Evgeny Baranov (Dynamo Moscow)

The August camp will mark the first official gathering of the Russian men’s national team since the FIVB lifted its suspension, representing the opening step in the country’s return to international volleyball.
