Ok ok…we usually take the weekend off, but this time we decided to make an exception.
After yesterday’s special edition, we thought we’d bend the rules once again and bring you another episode. Don’t get too used to it, though!

In Italy, and more specifically in Cisterna, Paolo Falabella and Elio Tommasino will remain alongside head coach Daniele Morato for the 2026/27 season.

Paolo Falabella:
“Cisterna offers the ideal environment to work in. We’ve built a young, motivated squad full of quality, and I believe this team can be exciting not only for the coaching staff and the club, but especially for our fans. Our goal is to keep improving, secure our place in the league, and finish higher than we did last season.”

Elio Tommasino:

In France, Paris Volley has announced the signing of Andrej Jokanovic, an 18-year-old French-Serbian outside hitter, for the 2026/27 season.
Developed at US Cagnes, AS Cannes, and France Avenir, Jokanovic is also coming off an outstanding season with UC Irvine, where he helped the team reach the NCAA Championship Final.
Despite being only 18 years old, the 2.03 m outside hitter already boasts an impressive list of achievements:

• 2025 FIVB U19 World Champion
• MVP of the 2025 FIVB U19 World Championship
• Best Outside Hitter of the 2025 FIVB U19 World Championship
• 2024 CEV U18 European Champion
• Best Server of the 2024 CEV U18 European Championship

And now, the reason why we decided to make this weekend exception: international volleyball.

History made!
Vietnam has captured its first-ever SEA V Cup gold medal, defeating defending champions Thailand in a thrilling five-set final of the 6th SEA V Cup – Leg 2: 22:25, 25:23, 25:19, 15:25, 15:10
After years of coming close, they finally breaks through to claim the historic championship in an unforgettable performance.
Meanwhile, Indonesia closed out the competition with a bronze medal after defeating Leg 1 champions Cambodia in four sets: 25:18, 19:25, 25:20, 26:24.

Türkiye outlasts Brazil in an epic 4-set battle to win the Women’s Volleyball Nations League 2026: 23:25, 25:23, 26:24, 25:21!
After tasting gold in 2023, they are officially back on top of the volleyball world! What a gritty, spectacular performance from start to finish.
On the other hand, after an outstanding campaign and a huge semifinal victory over reigning champions Italy, Brazil’s wait for their first VNL gold medal continues, settling for another silver medal.
Brazil’s VNL silver medal finishes now stand at 2019, 2021, 2022, 2025, and 2026.
Melissa Vargas, with as many as 33 points through 51% in attack in the decider including 3 blocks and 3 aces, has been crowned Most Valuable Player, leading Türkiye to another Volleyball Nations League title with her dominant performances throughout the tournament.
A truly well-deserved honor for one of the world’s best! Congratulations, Melissa Vargas, on an incredible campaign and a historic achievement!
And congratulations to Italy too, after defeating hosts China in four sets to capture the bronze medal, finishing their campaign on a high note:
25:16, 23:25, 25:22, 25:13.
With the victory, the Italians once again secured a place on the podium, ending the tournament among the top three.
