Türkiye step up EuroVolley preparations with Denmark friendlies

Türkiye are stepping up their preparations for the CEV Enel EuroVolley 2026 Men, with the national team currently training in Ankara ahead of two international friendlies against Denmark on September 2 and 4.

The matches will provide an important opportunity for the Turkish side to fine-tune their game before heading to Romania for the European Championship.
Türkiye will compete in Pool D in Cluj-Napoca alongside hosts Romania, France, Germany, Latvia and Switzerland.
The upcoming EuroVolley represents another major test for a team that has enjoyed a remarkable rise on the international stage.
Nicknamed the “Efes of the Net”, Türkiye made history this summer by reaching the VNL Finals for the first time and eventually finishing sixth in the competition. That breakthrough provided further evidence of the rapid progress made by Turkish men’s Volleyball in recent years.

The challenge now is to carry that momentum into EuroVolley, where Türkiye will face a demanding pool and the pressure of turning an impressive VNL campaign into another significant international result.
The team also marked Türkiye’s Victory Day on Sunday during their training session, displaying the national flag in a tribute to the historic Great Offensive of 1922, which ultimately led to victory in the Turkish War of Independence under the command of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

With the European Championship approaching, the two meetings with Denmark will therefore represent more than just preparation. They will be the latest steps in a season that has already established Türkiye as one of the most interesting emerging forces in European men’s Volleyball.
