The second round of the 2026/27 SuperLega Credem Banca brought another full evening of action, with Itas Trentino, Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza and Cucine Lube Civitanova all collecting their second consecutive three-point victories.
Sir Susa Scai Perugia also made it two wins from two, while Rana Verona recovered from their opening defeat to claim their first victory of the campaign.
The round’s final match, between Allianz Milano and Acqua Sant’Anna Cuneo, went all the way to a deciding set.

Trentino’s return to the BTS Arena was a successful one, as Marcelo Mendez’s team overcame Cisterna Volley 3-0 (25:23, 25:23, 25:22). The visitors remained competitive throughout, but the hosts proved more decisive at the end of each set. Alessandro Michieletto marked his return to his home court after eight months away by earning the MVP award with 13 points, including three aces and a block. Filippo Lanza led Cisterna with 14 points, but Trentino’s greater effectiveness at crucial moments made the difference. The result kept the hosts unbeaten and without a set lost after two rounds.

Defending champions Perugia also recorded a straight-sets win, defeating newly promoted Tinet Prata di Pordenone 3-0 (25:18, 25:15, 25:23). Star setter Simone Giannelli was named MVP, while Ferre Reggers finished as the match’s top scorer with 13 points. Prata, who had impressed by winning their SuperLega debut against Monza, put up a stronger fight in the third set but could not force the match any further. Perugia’s victory followed their thrilling five-set success over Cuneo on opening weekend, giving the champions another important step forward.

Piacenza claimed the Emilia-Romagna derby against Valsa Group Modena, winning 3-0 (25:21, 25:22, 25:23) in front of their home supporters. Modena made the stronger start to the opening set, but Piacenza gradually gained control through effective serving, solid blocking and composed play in the closing exchanges. The visitors threatened to extend the match in the third set, building a lead of several points, only for Piacenza to fight back and close out the contest. Middle blocker Gianluca Galassi earned MVP honours, while Cuban outside hitter Josè Gutierrez and young Italian outside hitter Manuel Zlatanov were among Piacenza’s leading scorers, finishing with 14 and 13 points respectively. The result gave Piacenza a second straight win, while Modena were left searching for their first points of the season.

Cucine Lube Civitanova also maintained their perfect record, sweeping Pallavolo Padova 3-0 (25:21, 25:15, 25:21).
After a competitive opening set, the hosts dominated the second before facing a more determined challenge in the third. Padova briefly moved ahead during that final set, but Civitanova regained control to complete the win in 76 minutes. Middle blocker Giovanni Gargiulo was named MVP after scoring 10 points, including two aces and two blocks. Aleksandar Nikolov led the scoring for the hosts with 13 points, while Padova’s Mattia Orioli was the visitors’ leading scorer with 11. Lube now have six points from their first two matches.

Rana Verona finally got their season moving with a 3-1 away victory over Vero Volley Monza (23:25, 27:25, 25:19, 25:15). Monza took the opening set, but Verona responded in a tense second set, edging it 27-25 to level the match. From there, the visitors grew in confidence and took control of the contest. Captain Rok Možič led Verona with 19 points, while middle blocker Simone Anzani contributed 11, including four blocks. Francesco Sani, who came off the bench and changed the rhythm of the match, was named MVP with 13 points. The win gave Verona their first points of the campaign and left Monza still looking for their first victory.

The most dramatic finish came in Milan, where Allianz Milano edged Acqua Sant’Anna Cuneo 3-2 (25:21, 25:27, 25:20, 20:25, 19:17). The two sides traded sets before a nerve-racking tie-break that went beyond the usual 15-point finish. For Milano, the victory offered a response after their opening-round disappointing defeat to Cisterna; Cuneo, meanwhile, had pushed reigning champions Perugia to five sets in their first match and again proved difficult to put away. Full individual statistics and the official MVP designation for this match were not yet available in the sources checked.

After two rounds, Civitanova, Piacenza and Trentino lead the early standings with six points apiece. Perugia are close behind with five, having won both matches, while Cisterna and Prata have three points each. With the season still in its opening stages, the leading teams have made strong starts, but the five-set battles in the first two rounds suggest there will be little room for complacency as the schedule intensifies.
