Sir Susa Scai Perugia made the most of their home advantage on Wednesday, defeating Pallavolo Padova in straight sets 3-0 (25:21, 29:27, 25:19) in an early fixture from the 11th round of the SuperLega Credem Banca regular season. Played ahead of schedule to accommodate Perugia’s participation in the upcoming FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship, the match brought another three points for Angelo Lorenzetti’s side, who moved to eight points in the standings. Padova, coached by Jacopo Cuttini, remained without a point after three league outings. More than 3,200 spectators filled the PalaBarton Energy, where Ferre Reggers was named MVP.

Both coaches made adjustments to their starting line-ups and Lorenzetti opted for Mathis Henno and Marco Gaggini. Padova attempted to stay within reach during the opening set, but Perugia found another gear in the closing stages. Kamil Semeniuk finished with a successful back-row attack to give the hosts the lead.
The second set proved more dramatic. Padova remained competitive and, with the introduction of Iranian opposite Amir Mohammad Golzadeh, found renewed momentum. His serving run, including two aces, pushed the set beyond the regular 25-point mark and briefly raised the prospect of an equaliser. Perugia, however, held their nerve in the decisive exchanges. An attacking error by Alessandro Bristot handed the home side the set and a commanding 2–0 lead.
The third set remained close for much of the way, with neither team able to establish a decisive advantage. Perugia eventually accelerated towards the finish, applying pressure when it mattered most. A service error by Padova’s Marco Pellacani brought the contest to a close, completing a straight-sets victory for the reigning Italian champions.

Although Perugia controlled the result, Padova’s Leo Lukas Leodolter emerged as the match’s leading scorer with 17 points, recording his highest scoring total since arriving in Italy. Ferre Reggers followed with 16 points to his name for the winners, while Kamil Semeniuk contributed 12. Semeniuk also made his mark from the service line with three aces, while Argentine middle blocker Agustín Loser recorded three blocks. Reggers’ all-round contribution earned him the MVP award.
The result gives Perugia further momentum as the season gathers pace. The Block Devils will return to action on Saturday, 31 October, when they travel to face Vero Volley Monza in the third round of the regular season. Padova, meanwhile, will look to secure their first points of the campaign away against Allianz Milano on Sunday, 1 November.
Both matches are scheduled for 18:00 local time.
