The first midweek round of 2026/27 SuperLega Credem Banca Regular Season brought a night of high-intensity volleyball, unexpected twists and outstanding individual performances. With five matches played on Wednesday, November 4, the race at the top remains wide open: Sir Susa Scai Perugia and Cucine Lube Civitanova continue their unbeaten starts, Itas Trentino survive a major challenge from Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza, and Rana Verona come back from two sets down to defeat Allianz Milano. Meanwhile, Vero Volley Monza finally get off the mark with a thrilling five-set win in Cuneo.

Sir Susa Scai Perugia maintained their perfect record with a straight-set victory over Cisterna Volley, although the visitors initially proved difficult to shake off. The opening set was competitive, with Cisterna keeping pace before the reigning Italian champions edged ahead 25–22. Perugia then took control, winning the next two sets 25–17 and 25–15. Stefano Cappadona made his first start as the team’s setter, while Ferre Reggers led the scoring with 17 points. Kamil Semeniuk added 12, and Giulio Magalini was Cisterna’s most productive player with 12 points. The 3–0 result keeps the Block Devils unbeaten and firmly at the top of the standings.

Itas Trentino also remain undefeated, but their encounter with Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza proved far less straightforward. Trentino dominated the first two sets, taking them 25–16 and 25–20, only for Piacenza to respond with renewed determination. The visitors levelled the match by winning the third set 25–23 and the fourth 25–18, forcing a tie-break. In the decisive set, Theo Faure’s serving run helped Trentino regain control, as the home side closed out the match 15–8 for a 3–2 victory. Faure and Alessandro Bovolenta both delivered 17 and 16 points respectively, while Alessandro Michieletto contributed 14. For Piacenza, young outside hitter Manuel Zlatanov scored 15 points, with Bovolenta’s 16 leading the visitors. The defeat marks Piacenza’s first loss of the season, while Trentino remain unbeaten.

The most dramatic finish of the evening came in Cuneo, where Vero Volley Monza claimed their first win of the campaign after a five-set battle against Acqua Sant’Anna Cuneo. Monza took the opening two sets 25–21 and 25–23, but Cuneo fought back, winning the third 25–23 and the fourth 28–26 to force a decider. The tie-break remained tight until the final moments, when Diego Frascio delivered the decisive point for Monza, sealing the 15–13 set and a 3–2 victory. Frascio was outstanding with 27 points, while Nathan Feral produced a remarkable 31-point performance for Cuneo, setting a new career high. The French opposite’s effort was not enough to prevent the hosts from suffering another defeat, but the match offered one of the round’s most compelling individual duels.

At the Eurosuole Forum, Cucine Lube Civitanova and Valsa Group Modena produced one of the most intense matches of the round, with the second and third sets both extending beyond the regular 25-point threshold. Civitanova edged the opening set 25–23, before Modena levelled the match with a 31–29 win. The third set was even more dramatic, with Lube eventually prevailing 33–31 before closing out the match 25–21 in the fourth. Aleksandar Nikolov was the undisputed star, scoring 35 points and setting a new personal best in SuperLega. Erik Loeppky added 14 points and Mattia Bottolo 12. Modena’s Pardo Mati scored 16 points, while Sil Meijs contributed 14, but the visitors could not prevent their third defeat of the season. Civitanova, meanwhile, remain unbeaten.

Rana Verona completed a remarkable comeback against Allianz Milano, overturning a two-set deficit to win 3–2. Milano made a strong start, taking the first two sets 25–22 and 25–22, putting Verona under considerable pressure. The home side responded with a 25–23 third set, then took control in the fourth with a convincing 25–18. In the tie-break, Verona’s momentum proved decisive as they won 15–10. Noumory Keita led the match with 31 points and was named MVP, while Paul Buchegger added 16 and Francesco Sani six. Milano’s Basil Dermaux was their top scorer with 20 points, supported by Tatsunori Otsuka’s 17 and Robertlandy Simon’s 10. Verona’s comeback secured a valuable victory, while Milano were left to reflect on a match that had appeared within their grasp.

The fourth round is not yet complete: Pallavolo Padova and Tinet Prata di Pordenone will meet on Monday, November 16, at 20:30. Attention now turns to the fifth round, scheduled for the weekend, highlighted by the clash between Itas Trentino and Sir Susa Scai Perugia on Sunday, November 8, at 18:00. With both teams still unbeaten, the encounter promises to be one of the early season’s defining tests.
