Italy: Trento win also in Piacenza to take the lead 2-0 in semifinals series. Milano down Lube – 1-1!

Although both Games 1 of 2022/23 Superlega CredemBanca playoffs semifinals played on Thursday ended in straight sets, both series continued today with different stories.

Another great performance for Itas Trentino, able to win in four sets on the field of Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza (19:25, 22:25, 25:20, 20:25) in front of more than 3.400 spectators. A result that is worth, for the players around head coach Angelo Lorenzetti, a well-deserved 2-0 in the series and a possible qualification to what could be their ninth final in the history of the club.
The winners showed a great performance, starting from the start of the game with a great job in block and defense, but also in the decisive part of fourth set, in which they were able to stop the hosts after they won third set.
MVP award to Alessandro Michieletto with 15 points through 46% in attack, including 1 winning block and 2 aces, well served by a today very inspired Sbertoli, author also of three aces, four points in attack and a block, helped also by a great Laurenzano from the second line, and middle blocker Lisinac once again decisive with 64% in attack and 2 blocks.
On the other side of the net lot ot errors, above all from the service line: as many as 27 errors i 4 sets with only 2 aces, that basically neutralized the fact that the hosts were slightly more efficient in attack (52% to 45%).

In the second series…the field advantage smiles again to Allianz Milano who, like in the quarterfinal series, redeemed the defeat in Game 1 in front of a great audience, this time in an Allianz Cloud sold out (5.200 volleyball fans), and this time against titleholders Cucine Lube Civitanova.
The victory come after an exciting tie break, and after the comeback of the visiting side, 3-2 (25:18, 20:25, 25:21, 21:25, 15:9).
MVP and top scorer of the match Yuki Ishikawa with 22 punti, but good also Patry (19) and Mergarejo (17) in attack, and middle blockers Loser and Piano in blocking, with 3 each.
On the losing side another good performance of Nikolov (20 points), well supported by a good Zaytsev (19 points through 62% in attack, one ace and three blocks). In double digit also Chinenyeze (13 points, including 2 winning blocks) and Yant (12 points).
