VNL 2024: Italy down USA to climb FIVB World Ranking. Brazil, Germany, Poland, The Netherlands and Argentina ok

Second Week of 2024 Volleyball Nations League continued in Fukuoka, Japan, and Ottawa, Canada, with other six games.
In Japan, Brazil down Iran by 1-3 (19:25, 25:22, 16:25, 23:25), and the same did Germany against Bulgaria, 1-3 (24:26, 25:22, 16:25, 16:25) while, in the evening, Poland destroyed Türkiye in straight sets (25:19, 25:12, 25:19).
In Canada, four sets win also for The Netherlands over Cuba, 1-3 (24:26, 25:21, 20:25, 22:25), and for Argentina against Pool hosts, 1-3 (18:25, 25:22, 21:25, 20:25).
Italy redeemed themselves from their first loss in the Volleyball Nations League by defeating the United States in just three sets, 0-3 (23:25, 24:26, 20:25).
In fact, less than 24 hours after their defeat to France, they secured a decisive victory that brought them closer to qualifying for the Paris Olympics. Daniele Lavia led the winners with 15 points, including 12 kills and three aces, while Alessandro Michieletto and Gianluca Galassi also contributed significantly, each scoring ten points. For the USA, Torey Defalco and Max Holt were the top scorers, with only eight points each.
