Grbic’s war machine destroyed Italy in front of about 15,000 fans. Serbia have played a really fantastic match, defeating hosts of Italy in front of their fans in straight sets. Gianlorenzo Blengini’s team didn’t have any solution for the rivals. They were managing at some points to reduce the lead for to come closer to the Serbian team, but it was impossible.
Only in the second set, Italy tried to stay in the match, however, Serbian defense was excellent and they always found great solutions in the attack. But Serbia were very dominant from the start until the end of the match.
This win is of course a big step towards the semifinals for Serbian team, and Italy must win the next match against Poland.

A curiosity from the match: Serbia managed to keep Juantorena’s and Zaytsev’s scoring performances below 10 points each. Ivan Zaytsev scored only 9, while Osmany ended the game with 4 points.
Daniele Mazzone was the only player with double-digit: 11 points for him, while for Serbia, Atanasijevic scored 19 points, followed by Kovacevic with 11, while Ivovic and Lisinac added 10 points each.
