Day 1: Victory for Halkbank against Ziraat in five sets, funny tie-break in the match between Arhavi & Maliye Piyango

The reigning champions Halkbank Ankara and Ziraat Bankasi Ankara have played a very interesting match at the start of this Turkish Championship. At the end, everything went well for Halkbank, in a stunning five-set thriller in which the reigning champions led twice in the match and in the tie-break and they managed to beat the hosts.
I was witnessing a funny tie-break between Arhavi and Maliye Piyango. Even if it seems impossible, believe it or not, the two teams played 54 points in the fifth set! If you missed this match, you are really regretting now since it was a real volleyball show!!! Jhon Wendt led Maliye Piyango to the win with 24 points, followed by Ibrahim Yucel with 21. For the home team, Ian Iereschenko was the top scorer and ended the match with 23 points.

No problem for Galatasaray, which won against Inegol in three sets. Oliver Venno played an amazing match, in fact the Estonian player scored 28 points.
Arkas Izmir have also scored a victory, beating Afyon in four sets. Yigit Gulmezoglu ended the match with 24 points, followed by Adis Lagumdzija which added 18 points. In Afyon, Mihajlo Stankovic scored 17 points.
Istanbul BBSK had to play five sets to defeat Belediye Plevne, which was led by Okelo Daudi, who ended the match as absolut top scorer with 31 points, while on the winning team Burak Gungor scored 26 points.

Ziraat Bankasi – Halkbank 2-3 (24-26, 27-25, 22-25, 25-21, 11-15)

Fenerbahce – Jeopar Kula Bld. 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-16)
