Round 8: Rennes still at the top, Nantes fly to second place, Narbonne wins the match against Cannes.

1 min read

The eighth day French Ligue A ended last night. What happened?
The leader Rennes has confirmed their first position in the standing beating 3-1 Montpellier, despite the discreet performance of Thiago Sens (13 points and 61% attack). On the winning side, good performance of Van Der Dries: 26 points with 66% in attack, 1 block and 2 aces.
In the derby of the Italian coaches, Prandi’s Chaumont (still without Geiler) has probably paid its efforts after the Champions League away match in Saint Petersburg, even if this season the team is still at the bottom of the ranking and after yesterday’s defeat, they occupy the tenth place.
So it is Bertini’s Nantes who wins the match in straight sets, once again led by an excellent Peter Michalovic, this time 21 points with 59% in attack, 2 aces, 0 errors and only 2 blocks suffered!
So Nantes even fly to second place, and really congratulations to them (but especially congratulations to their opposite!)
In the queue, Narbonne wins the challenge salvation with a clearly victory in Cannes thanks to an incredible block’s performance (18 against 2 the final bill).
If I can make a personal comment: I think this was the worst game ever for Cannes, and the second set, ended 10:25, is evidence of this.
