#Turkey: Galatasaray and Halkbank in semifinal. Fenerbahce and Maliye to Game 3. Today Izmir-Tokat.
2 min read
Yesterday the first 3 matches of the turkish Efelerligi’s quarter-final match were played.
Maliye Piyango Ankara with a Wendt returned to full efficiency (28 points and 52% in attack) and six kill blocks by the prospect Osman Çağatay Durmaz, interrupted the winning streak of Fenerbahce, a winning streak with ten consecutive victories between regular season, F8 of the Turkish Cup and game 1 of playoffs: they have not lost since 2 February against Izmir!
Maliye played a really good match, overcoming the rivals in four sets.
Hidalgo was less decisive than the last matches with “only” 45% in attack. The series will therefore be decided with the decisive game 3 scheduled for Friday.
Instead, 2 games are enough for Venno’s Galatasaray (once again top scorer of the match) to take the semifinal. Istanbul BBSK (with Coskun in the field in place of Toy) fights in the first 2 sets, but collapses in the third and then gives up 3-0 in this game 2.
Halkbank Ankara beat Ziraat Bankasi Ankara with a very tight 3-2 after a comeback from 1-2 in the sets and 12- 14 in the fifth set. Decisive the 2 errors in attack of Ghaemi (14-14 and 15-14) and the final counterattack of Subasi (17-15). Luburic was put on the bench after 3 sets with only 29% in attack, and Sket was deployed as opposite in the last 2 sets. In Ziraat good proof for the young Iranian opposite Kazemi, who played instead of a bad Finger.
Kemal Kayhan (six kill blocks of the team’s 19) and Slovenian Alen Šket topped Halkbank’s scorers with 15 points each.
