Lube go to its 3rd straight playoff: they won Game 4 of the 2018/19 Italian Superlega playoff semifinals to advance to the gold medal matchup.
At a sold-out home court Civitanova’s Eurosuole Forum, in front of about 4,000 spectators) the third seed Cucine Lube Civitanova beat the second Itas Trentino in Game 4 in straight sets (25:21, 25:19, 31:29). Thus, Lube won the series by a 3-1 and claimed a spot in the finals for the third straight season, the sixth overall. In addition, Lube secured its place in the 2020 CEV Champions League!
Trentino had a chance to extend the serie, but they failed to convert four set points in the third set. Bulgarian Tsvetan Sokolov and Osmany Juantorena (75% attack, 15/20, one error) scored 16 points each on the winning side, and cuban middle-blocker Robertlandy Simón added six winning-blocks.
