#Turkey: Turkish head coach to lead Halkbank for the first time since 2012

1 min read

If the Turkish Volleyball top team Halkbank were coached by foreign experts since 2012, now Halkbank appointed domestic expert Taner Atik, until now an assistant coach, as a head coach. He has been working with the club for 10 straight years during which Halkbank won four Turkish Championships, three national Cups, four Super Cups and one CEV Cup. He will replace Italian Alberto Giuliani.

About the team, Halkbank announced parting ways with both setters, Arslan Ekşi and Italian Michele Baranowicz (went to Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia) and middle blocker Kemal Kayhan. The Serbian opposite hitter Dražen Luburić is heading towards the exit door. Luburić will replace Denis Zemchenok in Belogorie, who will be transferred to Zenit Kazan.
