1 min read
The 2018/19 French Volleyball Championship playoff quarterfinalists of Poitiers are close to assemble their roster for the next season: they gained one of the biggest world volleyball prospects at the moment, the 22-year-old American player Micah Ma’a.
He currently competing in the 2019 FIVB Nations League with his country’s national team, and he has chosen the French Championship side to be the first club in his professional career. Ma’a, who can cover two positions that have nothing in common, setter’s and outside hitter’s, competed in the NCAA for the UCLA Bruins, a team coached by the USA Men head coach John Speraw.
And about Poitiers, earlier they signed with two outside hitters, Florian Lacassie (from SWD Powervolleys Düren, Germany) and Brazilian Chizoba Neves Atu (from Pärnu VK, Estonia), and two middle blockers, Iranian Ali Shafiei (from Saipa Tehran, Iran) and Brazilian Gladstone Magalhães (from G.A.S. Pamvochaikos, Greece).
