The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) decided to award the organization of the 2019 Club World Championship to India, but still awaits a response from the local volleyball federation to officially announce the hosts of the tournament. The FIVB expects a positive answer as they aim to gain more space in the huge consumer market in that part of Asia.
In case India accepts to host the event, the next step will be to confirm the city that will organize the tournament, which will likely be Chennai, and date when it will be played, which is likely in December.
If the Asian country gives a negative response, the FIVB will open a bidding process to organize the 2019 Club World Championship between federations of Brazil and Italy.
