Bad news for Austrian national team: Buchegger gets injured – doubtful for EuroVolley

1 min read

Bad news came for Austrian Volleyball fans from the national team training camp in Schladming. The opposite Paul Buchegger is injured (again).
Already on the first day of preparations for the 2019 CEV European Volleyball Championship (September 13-29), Austria might have lost one of the most representative player: Paul Buchegger.

The 23-year-old opposite injured meniscus in his left knee and underwent surgery a few hours later. The expected time for a rehabilitation process is several weeks, which means that Buchegger is highly doubtful for competing in the 2019 EuroVolley.
Buchegger had the same injury only a year ago, but in his right knee, during Qualifiers for the 2019 EuroVolley against Portugal in Zwettl. And just like now, he was operated.
