Italy: Lube wreck Milano, Perugia and Trentino brutal and the others of Round 2
3 min read
In the duel between the two unbeaten sides in the 2019/20 Italian Superlega CredemBanca, Cucine Lube Civitanova have proven too strong for Allianz Milano: although they did not know who will play on the position of a setter even a few hours prior to the match against Milano, the reigning champions swept Milano to improve the record to 3-0 and break the invincibility of rivals: 3-0 (25:22, 25:15, 25:20). Stijn DāHulst returned from Belgium where he had gone for his fatherās death just before the game to fill the place of a setter that was vacant due to the slight injury of Bruno Rezende, to return to Belgium tomorrow for the funeral. Milano was also weakened because Alletti, their other starting middle blocker beside Piano, also could not play. He was blocked by the doctors for a heart problem, while recall that Piano will miss the entire season due to ACL injury. Osmany Juantorena was the top scorer for the winners with 17 points, including 4 aces, while Milanoās star Abdel-Aziz underperformed with 13 points, 38% attack, 12/32. Serbian Nemanja PetriÄ was Milanoās top scorer with 14 points with a notable attack success rate of 70% (14/20). (Photogallery of the match avaible)
Sir Safety Conad Perugia regenerated after a defeat vs. Milano, only three days ago, destroyed Calzedonia Verona despite playing without PodraÅ”Äanin who was out due to a back problem. Serbian opposite Aleksandar AtanasijeviÄ scored 17 points (8 points and 89% in the attack only in the second set!) for Perugia, while French StĆ©phen Boyer scored 14 for Verona.
Itas Trentino made a successful home debut this season: 3-0 (25:20, 25:16, 25:21) vs. Vero Volley Monza. Luca Vettori scored 13 points for the winners, while French Jenia Grebennikov was superb in defense (77%, 13 digs, 38% perfect). French Yacine Louati was the top scorer of Monza with 14 points.
Close the picture Padova’s home victory in straight sets vs. Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia and Ravenna who won away on Sora’s field in four sets.
