Austria: Graz first semifinalist – As predicted, Aich/Dob demolished Sokol in the last Game 1 of quarterfinals!

On saturday, UVC Holding Graz became the first team to claim a ticket for semifinal, thanks to a very confident straight sets (25:17, 25:20, 25:10) home win in the Styria derby vs. VBC TLC Weiz. Also the first quarter-final duel last Wednesday ended with the same result.
On Sunday, as expected, reigning champions of SK Zadruga Aich / Dob won their first DenizBank AG VL quarter-final duel vs. TJ Sokol Wien V in straight sets without any difficult in a match lasted only 52 minutes (25:15, 25:16, 25:6).
Clemens Ecker with 12 points was the best among the home team, and the only played who reached a double digit performance, while Victor Miranda de Alcantara and Max Landfahrer top-scored for the winners with 18 and 12 points respectively. Interestingly, Aich/Dob put down 15 kill blocks in three sets, while Wien only one!

Game 2 were scheduled on Wednesday: runners-up Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel will face VBK Wörther-See-Löwen Klagenfurt at home, UVC Weberzeile Ried/Innkreis will play vs. VCA Amstetten NÖ while SK Zadruga Aich/Dob will play on the home soil against TJ Sokol Wien V.
