Transfers: Uriarte and Gonzalez will play in France

1 min read

Latest official news from France: as we had already anticipated in the rumors, the Argentine national setter Nicolas Uriarte will play next season in Narbonne (that confirmed also head coach Guillermo Falasca), while the thirty-eight-years-old libero Alexis Gonzalez, his compatriot, will play in Montpellier. He had already played in France, in Tours from 2009 to 2012 and in Rennes in 2013.

The next edition of the French volleyball championship will be filled with Argentine players: looking at the official and unofficial transfers, plus expected renewals, there will be as many as eight Argentine players in the 2020/21 Ligue A.
In addition to Nicolás Uriarte and Alexis González, both playing in Bolívar Voley last season, there are Lisandro Zanotti, also in Narbonne, Nicolás Méndez, Montpellier. Tourcoing already announced signing the setter Matías Sánchez. The trio of liberos will renew their contracts with French clubs: Franco Massimino with Chaumont, Facundo Santucci with Rennes, and Sebastián Closter with Toulouse.
