Germany: two youngsters for Friedrichshafen

1 min read

The 13-time German volleyball champions VfB Friedrichshafen made their first steps in the transfer market.
As already mentioned in our list of official transfers 2020/21 a couple of days ago, Friedrichshafen reached an agreement with the young opposite Linus Weber (in photo). The 20-year-old player is coming from Italy’s Allianz Milano where he served as a backup to Nimir Abdel-Aziz. Interestingly, Weber was a member of Friedrichshafen’s fiercest rivals in the country, Berlin Recycling Volleys, prior to going to Italy, and he even won the Bundesliga title with the team from the German capital.

In addition to Weber, Friedrichshafen promoted 17-year-old outside hitter Ben-Simon Bonin from their youth team Volley Youngstars Friedrichshafen competing in the second division. Actually, they signed the professional contract with a player valid for the next two years.
Moreover, they parted ways with Austrian outside hitter Anton Menner who went to HELIOS Grizzlys Giesen.
