The board of the German Volleyball Bundesliga (VBL) has adopted immediate measures against the negative consequences of the coronavirus pandemic on both men’s and women’s clubs competing in the top and second division.
The adopted package secures almost 200,000 euros in payment reductions, mostly fees, for the clubs and another 100,000 euros in the direct savings in the budget of VBL. Measures that will apply exclusively to the 2020/21 season.
Furthermore, various individual measures in the area of administration and management, sport development, and youth development were adopted, creating additional savings potential for each club in the lower six-digit range (for top division clubs) or middle five-digit range (for second division clubs).
