The Korean Volleyball Federation (KOVO) will host the foreign player draft on May 15, 2020, in the capital city of Seoul.
On May 15, at the Hotel Riviera in Seoul, the KOVO will organize the draft of male foreign players for the 2020/21 V-League. The 2020 KOVO Tryout & Draft was initially scheduled to be held in Prague, the Czech Republic, in early May, but was canceled due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
The KOVO decided to put 47 foreign players on a final list, including the top 40 of the 80 players that applied from March 2 to April 29 and 7 who played in the V-League last season.
Given that KOVO rule says that only one foreigner is allowed per team, it means that 7 of these 47 players will be selected to compete in the 2020/21.
Looking at the participating players, there are those who have already competed in the Korean Championship earlier, such as Slovenian Mitja Gasparini, Cuban Yosvany Hernández and Portuguese Alexandre Ferreira. There are also some prominent names of the world volleyball that applied for the draft.
For instance, German Christian Fromm, Pole Dawid Konarski, Czech Michal Finger and Iranian Amir Ghafour.
