Italy: Alessandro Fei says good bye to volleyball

1 min read

The curtain has fallen on the great career of Italian volleyball player Alessandro Fei.
At the age of 41, the opposite (former middle blocker) has announced via Facebook Live the farewell to volleyball. He’ll embark on a new career: team manager of Gas Sales Piacenza, the club in which ended his glorious career.

The best scorer in the history of the Italian Championship (set the new record in November 2019), has won 4 titles in that competition (all with Sisley Treviso, who longer exist), as well as 5 Italian Cups, 6 Super Cups, 1 CEV Champions League (with Sisley in 2006), 3 CEV Cups, and 1 CEV Challenge Cup.
With the Italian National Team, he claimed the 1998 FIVB World Championship, as well as the CEV EuroVolley and FIVB Volleyball Nations League twice each.
Individually, among other titles, he was awarded MVP of the CEV Champions League once.
