Italy: Sora renounces the Superlega

1 min read

Globo Banca Popolare del Frusinate Sora withdrew from participating in the next edition of the Italian volleyball Championship.
Sora, who have been members of SuperLega since 2016, announced that they have made the decision to give up on competing in the next edition of the national championship.
The club based in central Italy stressed that its decision couldn’t have been different given this particular moment, indirectly explaining that it had financial difficulties related to coronavirus situation.
Recall that last season Sora finished at the very bottom of the SuperLega standings with only one victory and 19 defeats.

The next championship in Italy will therefore have 12 teams, and there will be relegations.
