Friendly matches: Estonia beats Finland, but does not go to Poland. Heynen divides Poland into two teams.

Finland and Estonia, two of the 4 organizing nations of the 2021 European Championships, met in a friendly match in Salo. The match was dominated by the guest lineup now coached by Cédric Enard who won in straight sets (20:25, 15:25, 19:25) and also won the additional set 22:25. The protagonist of the match was Oliver Venno with 21 points while the top scorer of the Finns was Samuli Kaislasalo with only 7. The Estonian formation was expected in Lodz for 2 friendly matches against Poland today and tomorrow, but yesterday (Saturday) is instead back to home due the increase number of coronavirus cases in Poland, giving up the double commitment. About volleyball, a LKS Commercecon Lodz player (Aleksandra Wojcik) and a Trefl Gdansk player (with 3 others having symptoms) recently tested positive and both teams were quarantined.

Due to the live scheduled on Polsat Sport, Heynen’s national team will play as expected, but divided into 2 teams renamed Team Fabian and Team Michal by the name of the 2 captains (Drzyzga and Kubiak).
