France: Chaumont and Tourcoing win the first matches of Round 1!

After 7 months of abstinence (and not a few problems related to the COVID-19 pandemic that still affects the country, and which caused the postponement of two Round 1 matches), the French volleyball championship 2020/21 started today. In the two matches of the day, Chaumont and Tourcoing both win in straight sets, against Sete and Cambrai respectively.
In details, all easy for Chaumont, who literally destroyed the rivals on the road, partially 19:25, 21:25 and 16:25. The guests have always led the game, literally blocking the opponents without the opposite Tupchii, on the bench, and making 10 winning blocks, against 3 of Sete. Jeanlys was the top scorer of the match with 17 points, while Roamy Alonso added 13 (including 5 winning blocks, and with 73% in attack!). Baranek was absolutely the best in Sete with 14 points and 75% in attack.

In today’s other game, Tourcoing wins at home against newcomers Cambrai. With the exception of the first set, which ended 26:24, the hosts had no problems, and were more effective in the finals of all three sets. The Argentine Loser was the most prolific player for the winners with 17 points, 4 winning blocks and an incredible 87% in attack, while Cardenas added 14, with also a respectable percentage in attack, 74%. Cagliari was the only player with Cambrai’s jersey who made a double-digit-performance. 13 points.
